HIT OF HISTORY:

Stickers nowadays are an affordable, readily available source, they have sure come a long way from early stickers.Early stickers were made of paper stuck with gum glue, used to make objects, such as crates, more attractive in the late 1800s. We also have R Stanton Avery from Oklahoma, the United States of America, to thank for inventing the first modern stickers. They were originally known as “self-adhesive labels” and in 1935 he enabled stickers to come with a peel-off backing.

Coffee still costs a nickel, and anyone who dares to curse has to glue a dollar to the wall.

They were inspired not only to reunite them with some relatives, but they also with ancestors of the town’s founders.

Many happy children and adults gathered round a bonfire outside.

Fifty people came home to Gross, Nebraska, for a pre-Thanksgiving celebration this year at Mike and Mary Finnegan’s restaurant, the Nebraska Inn.

The huge feast ended with Mary and Mike’s family and their new friends roasting marshmallows over a campfire and lighting sparklers.

The Finnegans’ three children and eight grandchildren were there, discovering they’re related to people they’ve known their entire lives.

“The couple was ecstatic and heart warmed that the event came to life, Mary said “Oh my goodness gracious, it’s just amazing,” she said in a phone interview. “I can’t give you any words to describe how grateful I am for that. It was just an absolutely perfect day. It expresses the importance of family, getting together, and having a place for everybody to call home and come to for holidays. I hope everyone who was there learned that important bit of information.” Ancestry

How Pez Are Made

How Pez Are Made

How Pez Are Made

Find out how Pez candy are made in this sweet behind-the-scenes video that takes you inside a candy factory by the folks at Refinery29.

When Pez introduced the Pez Dispenser they became one of the first interactive mint/candy experiences in the world. Pez candy was originally designed to replace cigarette cravings and act as a minty alternative to smoking.  The mint candy dispensers were even designed to look like cigarette lighters.

However, Pez was unable to gain market share over the American tobacco companies. Pez then turned their attention to marketing to children and creating sweet candy flavors that would appeal to a younger audience.

Fun Fact: Pez comes from the German word ‘pfeffermintz’ and originated in Austria in 1927.
