Born in Canada in 1945, in Toronto Canada, and raised in a small rural town of Omemee, Neil’s boyhood was a complicated one. Suffering from epilepsy, Type 1 diabetes and polio, by 1951 his health had deteriorated so far that he was unable to walk. With time, Neil was able to overcome his ailments, and with his mother’s encouragement he began to nurture an interest in music, learning to play both the ukulele and banjo.
He performed in bands since his teens and later as a soloist in Toronto coffeehouses, Young was both folkie and rocker, so when he arrived in Los Angelas in 1966 he was ready for Buffalo Springfield, the versatile and pioneering group he joined including folk legend Stephen Stills. By 1968 strains in the band dynamics led him to go solo.“Cinnamon Girl” and “Down by the River,” the album climbed up the charts to No. 34, and eventually went gold.
He reunited with former Bandmate Stephen Stills to form another successful band Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSN&Y) before decided to go solo again, writing and recording such timeless songs as “Old Man,” “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black),” “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Heart of Gold”—a No. 1 hit.
Nicknamed the “Godfather of Grunge” for his undeniable influence on that genre, he still has released 40 studio albums, 8 live albums, 3 tribute albums, and 3 soundtrack albums. More than 50 years into his musical career, he continues to record and tour on a regular basis.
Young is also a strong advocate for environmental and disability issues, Having fathered two sons with cerebral palsy, Young helped establish and support the Bridge School in San Francisco to help meet the needs of those challenged by the disease. As well he co-founded the Benefit for Farm Aid and the Bridge School Benefit Concerts. BIOGGRAPHY ONLINE, BRITTANICA, WIKIPEDIA

When you think about the cuteness culture in Japan, the word “kawaii” comes to mind. The word, which signals more of a childlike sense of cute, came about in the 70s and it’s been used globally ever since.
And Sanrio, the company that created Hello Kitty, has built an empire around the “kawaii” culture. Cuteness is a reaction. In Japan, the kawaii culture and concept is often linked to the country’s post-WWII years. The idea is that, because of its trauma and defeat, the country leaned into its vulnerability.
Decades later— Sanrio’s new face of kawaii is an egg yolk with depression, questioning life. And he has become iconic in Japan. You can find it on backpacks, cups, credit cards, airplanes, it even has it’s own cafe!
Why are people falling in love with this melancholic egg yolk? It’s lazy personality of course! Vox explains the story and fascination with Gudetama in this short video.

This is the inspiring story of a 96 year old man who began painting and eventually saved his village with colour and tourism.
In its hay-day, the Nantun District village was made up of about 1,200 homes. Most of the residents were former soldiers, who were given temporary housing by the government.
As time went on many of the soldiers moved away and various developers eagerly started buying up the land. Eventually, the village was home to only eleven houses.
Huang Yung-Fu
Living in one of them was Huang Yung-Fu, a 96-year-old former soldier who had lived been living there for over 37 years.
Although he loved his tiny village, there was little to do, and so he Huang Yung-Fu decided to teach himself to paint.
The first thing Huang painted was a bird on his wall. He found joy in painting as did others who saw his new works.
His village became a blank canvas, he painted the walls with colorful figures and creatures.
Huang’s unique create work quickly received a lot of attention, putting his tiny village on the map and becoming one of the most visited touristic attractions in Taichung.
The booming tourism made the government halt their plans to demolish the remaining houses in the village.
The painter is affectionately named the ‘Rainbow Grandpa’, and continues to paint. He admits it is hard work but he will continue to paint until even when he is 100.

Bob Bretall, 52, has more than 105,00 unique comic books, a collection that weighs in at an estimated 8.3 tons.
He claims he started to collect comic books at the young age of 8 years old.
And rather than sell his collection, he plans to pass it on to his kids as an inheritance.
Watch him showcase his amazing collection below!
“I do not like to emphasize the monetary aspects of collecting comics. Too many stories about comics collecting focus on how many $$ everything is worth instead of the great stories and characters. I do not do it for the money and I don’t try to rationalize it as an investment and I’m not into it to make money, I have a regular job that pays the bills just fine.” – Bob Bretall
Bob has been collecting comics for well over 40 years now.
He is proud to be the official Guinness Record Holder for Biggest Comic Book Collection!

What exactly is a Nebula? Nasa explains them like this:
“A nebula is a giant cloud of dust and gas in space. Some nebulae (more than one nebula) come from the gas and dust thrown out by the explosion of a dying star, such as a supernova.” NASA
Most nebulae are of vast size, some are hundreds of light years in diameter. A nebula that is barely visible to the human eye from Earth would appear larger, but no brighter, from close by.
