My Grandfather Was A Cherry Tree

This touching short film My Grandfather Was A Cherry Tree won an Oscar for best short animation.

Created by twin sisters Olga Poliektova and Tatiana Poliektova
who started drawing together when they were young in n St-Petersburg, Russia.

The artistic sisters now both have degrees in animation & computers. They have also won over 50 awards for the films they have made.

“This is a movie memory, narrated by a young boy about his views on life and death. It’s also a story about an unusual grandfather, who could listen to the trees breathing and believed that a person can’t die if someone still loves him”. Olga & Tatiana Poliektova.
