In Japan, you don’t need to have a professional sports franchise, or a restaurant chain in order to need a mascot.  In Tokyo for instance, mascots are far more common and they are seen to have the ability to “communicate messages in a way people can not”. Mascots are big businesses that are sweeping the private sector.

Insider sat down to interview Choko Ohira the woman who runs The Mascot Actor’s School in Tokyo Japan.  Choko is operating one of the only mascot academies in the entire world!
