Highest Altitude Restaurant

Today we take a look at the highest altitude pop up restaurant in the world, we hope you’re hungry!

Nothing works up an appetite like hiking!

If you happen to be hiking the Himalayas, you could be in luck!

At 5,585 m (18,323 ft) up on Island Peak (Imja Tse) mountain, Trisagion is the world’s Highest altitude pop-up restaurant, and fine-dining to top it off!

You Have To Earn Your Meal

Operated by Indian chefs Sanjay Thakur and Soundararajan, the restaurant’s name means “organic nature” in Sanskrit. The restaurant also requires an eight-day climb where you enjoy your well-earned meal in the pristine Himalayas.

Sanjay’s dream behind Triyagyoni is to raise awareness of the sustainability of the Himalayas’ natural resources. The restaurant dining area consists of wooden furniture in a tent and is run off solar energy.

Dining there means you are treated to an eight-course meal!  That includes dishes like: shishno garlic, Himalayan roll, dal Bhatt, fish salad, chicken, pannacotta by nak milk, bassa fillet and a cheese platter!

This amazing restaurant can be reached three different ways: a four-day journey using a helicopter for a transfer to and from the restaurant; a nine-day journey trekking one way and flying the rest of the journey by helicopter or as a seven-day trek journey.
