Kaycie Dunlap chose to combine her love of art with science.

Therefore she created her own version of the periodic table of elements illustrated as characters.

Kaycie decided to use art to try and teach science in a fun and creative way. Hoping helpfully reach an entirely new audience.  For that reason, she has drawn inspiration from modern pop culture and ambitiously drew 112 characters, each representing a different element.

“An artist from birth, I was the kid who drew in a class all the time.
This phase perpetuated well into art school.

First of all, it was a place where it was actually OK to draw in class!

Drawn in pencil and colored in Photoshop, I took my first love of characters. Lastly, I combined it with a strong idea to create these 112 illustrations.” Kacie Dunlap

 Joseph was lost as an artist and had trouble discovering how to channel his art.  Joseph and his wife lost their beloved Great Dane dog and found themselves in despair. Joseph decided to honor his late dog by memorializing him in a giant Lego portrait.  The dream was born and Joseph was truly inspired to create more amazing Lego mosaics.

Joseph began making beautiful Lego mosaics using thousands of different bricks to construct each one. He has his own unique process which involves painting and spraying adhesive on each individual brick. He often creates images of athletes, celebrities and famous artworks that he donates to charity.

This good news story features the inspiring doctor Ramana Rao, who started the world’s longest running free clinic in Bangalore, India.

He began his medical studies in the 1960s when cholera and typhoid were epidemics. Due to lack of awareness and medical centers, rural India was hit the hardest.

The intelligent and kindhearted Rao “always believed that the will to serve is much stronger than all the resistance of the world put together.”

Since 1973

The day after he earned his MBBS degree in 1973 he fulfilled his amazing dream to open up a free treatment center in the tiny village of Begur.

He started out treating five patients, within five years that number had grown to over 300. Now in its 45th year, there are days when up to 2,000 people wait to be treated and Ramana has helped over two million people!
