The Story Behind Japan’s Bathing Monkeys

The Story Behind Japan’s Bathing Monkeys

The Amazing Story Behind Japan’s Bathing Monkeys

Have you ever wondered why Japan’s snow monkeys spend their winters soaking in hot springs? ❄️

. Discover why in this neat educational kids video! Their story is as heartwarming as their unique behaviour🐒

How Did the Snow Monkeys Start Bathing?

The amazing history behind why Snow Monkeys started bathing us dated back to 1963.

A curious monkey decided to hop into a hotel’s hot spring, joining human visitors for a warm soak.

Soon, more macaques followed. But this caused trouble for the humans.

The solution? Build a hot spring just for the monkeys! This led to the creation of a park where these unique behaviors could thrive.

Why Do Snow Monkeys Bathe?

Scientists have been studying these monkeys to understand their behaviour. Here’s what they found:

* Staying warm:
Bathing likely helps them escape the cold.

* Lower stress:
Monkeys’ stress hormones (glucocorticoids) drop during their hot spring sessions.

* Social dynamics:
Higher-ranking females enjoy longer, more frequent soaks than lower-ranking monkeys.

This behavior isn’t just practical—it’s cultural! Over generations, this troop of macaques has passed down the tradition of soaking in hot springs, making it a unique aspect of their social life.

What do you think these monkeys ponder while they soak?  🌟T

Migration: Where Do Birds Go In The Winter?

Ever wondered where birds go in the winter?

Explore this amazing question and the incredible journey birds take each year in this educational kids video! 🦅

The Magic Of Bird Migration

Throughout history, people came up with wild explanations to solve the mystery of bird migration.

In the 1700s, some thought birds vacationed on the moon, while Aristotle believed they turned into other animals during the colder months. ❄️

But thanks to modern science and tools like GPS, we now know birds embark on epic migrations around the world.

Fun Facts About Bird Migration

* Longest Journey:
The
arctic tern travels up to 50,000 miles a year between the Arctic and Antarctic.

* Tiny But Mighty:
The ruby-throated hummingbird flies 600 miles nonstop over the Gulf of Mexico in 20 hours, burning a quarter of its body weight! 💪

* Highest Flyers:
Bar-headed geese soar over the Himalayas, using special hemoglobin to survive in thin air.

* Speed Racer:
The great snipe flies 4,000 miles at speeds of 60 mph! 🚀

* Nonstop Heroes:
The bar-tailed godwit travels 7,000 miles across the Pacific without stopping once.

Birds don’t use calendars. Instead, they rely on cues like daylight, temperature, and food supply to know when it’s time to migrate.

They also have amazing navigation skills.

Some use the sun and stars as a guide, while others sense Earth’s magnetic field thanks to tiny iron-rich crystals in their beaks and eyes.

Talk about bird brilliance! 🌟

Have you ever wondered why glacier ice is blue?

Unlike the ice in your freezer or the snow in your backyard, glacier ice creates its breathtaking blue hue through an incredible natural process.

Discover the stunning mystery of nature and science unveiled in this educational kids video by Besmart.

Learn About Glacier Ice

Glacier ice begins its journey as snow, packed tightly over time under massive pressure.

As the air bubbles are squeezed out, light waves interact with the dense ice in a fascinating way.

Red and orange light is absorbed, leaving behind the beautiful blue hue that glaciers are famous for! 💙

This process involves vibrations, overtones, and light frequencies, making it one of nature’s most stunning phenomena.
